GE's EliteNet® Mobile Delivers Industry-First Mobile Access to Job Critical Data

CLEVELAND, Ohio, Feb. 19, 2010 — (NYSE: GE)  “Let me get back to you on that,” can be deleted from the sales force lexicon with the introduction of GE's EliteNet® Mobile (m.geelitenet.com.), the newest productivity tool from GE that keeps users informed on-the-go, so they can keep customers informed anytime.

GE developed the EliteNet Mobile application after data from an internal survey indicated at least 39 percent of its customers and employees customarily use a mobile device for business purposes. The mobile application is one of the first in the lighting industry to provide job critical data service.

“Whether sales people are, in the office, at the airport, or otherwise on the go, EliteNet Mobile gives them immediate access to product information, price and availability and order status — from the palm of their hand,” says Angela Hare, GE's gigitization program manager.

According to Hare, primary users of EliteNet Mobile are distributor employees — including outside sales, project managers, branch managers/owners — who find themselves frequently out of the office and with customers. EliteNet Mobile is also meant to nationally serve GE sales team members, who have heavy field calls versus in-the-office time.

As long as users have a mobile signal on their web-capable mobile device, they can utilize the web application to retrieve secure, up-to-the minute order tracking as well as product price/availability information 24/7/365, even on holidays.

Answers when needed anywhere, any time
Users just login into the EliteNet Mobile screen by typing “m.geelitenet.com” in their mobile device's web browser and entering their pre-existing EliteNet user ID and password. The user enters his or her account number or selects a “favorite” from accounts they have created in EliteNet. These are saved in the user's “mobile favorites” file for future access.

Once users login they can:
  • View an account number;
  • Access “favorites” they created in EliteNet via “mobile favorites” in EliteNet Mobile;
