Set the Mood with New GE Energy Smart™ Dimmable Spiral® CFLs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — (NYSE: GE)  GE now offers two dimmable CFL bulbs. The new GE Energy Smart™ Dimmable Spiral® CFLs can be used with most standard household dimmer switches.

Dimming controls help set mood, but they are also increasing in popularity as energy-conserving devices. Dimmers operate by lowering the light output of a source, usually by reducing wattage to the bulb.

A GE 26-watt Dimmable CFL Spiral bulb replaces a 100-watt Soft White incandescent bulb and will dim to 20 percent of its maximum light output. The color is soft white, and it has a rated life of 10,000 hours.

A GE 15-watt Dimmable CFL Spiral bulb replaces a 60-watt Soft White incandescent bulb, also dimming to 20 percent of its maximum output. The color is soft white and it also has a rated life of 10,000 hours.

ENERGY STAR® CFL products have about the same or better light output than standard incandescent products, but they use less energy and last much longer. When consumers choose GE lighting products that have earned the ENERGY STAR qualification they can trust that they meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and the DOE.

These new GE Energy Smart lamps will be available at most discount, grocery, home improvement, office supply and super center stores. For more information, visit www.GELighting.com.
